Useful call details. Less stored data.
Front Desk's call history shows three things:
- The caller's name, when stated. Otherwise, “Unknown caller.”
- The date and time of the call, in AM/PM format.
- How long the call lasted.
New Front Desk call records do not save audio, full transcripts, summaries, or caller phone numbers. The calendar still stores the appointment information needed to schedule services.
Appointments at your business
Salons and fitness businesses do not require a customer address for a booking. Businesses that travel to the customer require a service address. Owners can override the default in Settings under “Where do you provide services?” The calendar and phone-booking tool use the same setting.
Repeat customers and booking history
The calendar and Customers section show a repeat-customer label, completed visits, total bookings, and bookings for the selected service. Matches use the same customer name and phone/email. Cancelled appointments do not count. Completed visits reflect appointments the owner marked Done, not independently verified attendance. Counts cover this workspace only.
Common questions during calls
Owners can save public business facts and up to 10 custom questions and answers in Settings → Business answers. The phone receptionist uses approved information for hours, services, pricing, address or service area, payment methods, parking, and cancellation rules. Missing information should be acknowledged instead of guessed. After saving, prepare the connected phone receptionist and make a test call. These answers are for customer phone calls, not just the owner dashboard.
A simple introduction
“Hi, I’m the automated AI receptionist for [business]. I can help with scheduling. Your name, if provided, the call time, and call length are saved. How can I help?”
Provider storage and temporary processing
For calls routed through Front Desk's inbound webhook, the integration requests Retell's Basic Attributes Only setting. Retell documents this as retaining no recordings, transcripts, or logs in its call history. Front Desk does not fetch or save audio links from webhook events.
This is not a guarantee that audio is never temporarily created. Retell still processes live speech and documents temporary webhook recording links that expire after about ten minutes. Separate carrier settings and calls that bypass Front Desk must be checked independently. Any legally required consent for the processing used still needs review.
The older quality-assurance recording announcement has been removed. Older provider recordings have not been automatically deleted. Use the support form to request review or removal of historical data.
